Delight in Life CAS

Hey there,

I hope you are all enjoying your day!! I am enjoying today but I know what tomorrow means, me starting school again. Ahhh I dread school, not because I don't like school or I don't want a good education and a successful career but because I'm miles away from everyone I care about, and it makes it a little hard. I know everyone is just a phone call away but it's so much nicer when you get to hang out with those people you care about. I guess there are weekends but even then that is not enough. I guess I'm grateful that it's only a few mile and not a few states away, it just takes me a good hour to see anyone and I always have my wonderful roommate who I have been friends with since kindergarden, so that always helps.

Well enough blabbing, today's card uses my Tree of Life stamp which as I use more I am starting to like what I come up with. I like this card more than I like the one before it using this stamp. I really like it's simplicity and how it has a little white space that bring your attention to the tree itself. I hope you like it as much as I do. Here it is. Enjoy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!!!

August Viva La Verve Challenges

Hey there ladies,

So yesterday I decided to do all of August's Viva la Verve Challenges over on Splitcoast and then sumbit them to the August Sketch Champions thread to be entered in the random drawing for the next FULL MONTHS" STAMP RELEASE!! What a deal, huh?? It's been a while since I've played with my verve stamps and I've been meaning to give them some attention so what a better idea than to ink them up for some Verve Sketches!! So I quickly put them all together since last night at midnight was the deadline for entering so here is what I came up with.

Enjoy!!!!!!!

VLVAug01
For this challenge there was no actual "sketch", instead, the challenge was to CASE A VERVE DIVA!!!!!!!!! The {TWIST}: If the card you're caseing uses patterned paper, you may NOT use patterned paper! If the card you're caseing Does NOT use patterned paper, you MUST use patterned paper! So those were the rules. The card that I cased was this gorgeous card by Amy Sheffer. She does some amazing work!!! I've had my eye on this card of her's since she first made it when they were first releasing the Because of You stampset, I'm this was also one of the cards that made me want to purchase the set, it's definitely one of my favorite sets that I own!!! Here is my card, don't forget to check out her gorgeous card as well!!

VLVAug02
For the second week's challenge we were to use the sketch to the left and the {TWIST} was EDGY! That's right, they wanted to see us use our EDGE punches! What a great idea, huh?? I love my edge punches, I probably own almost all of Martha's edge punches, they are my fav!! They are a great embellishment to all cards!! I just love being EDGY!!! LOL. So here is what I came up with.

VLVAug03
For the third weeks challenge it was to use this sketch to the left and the twist was to add a tag to your card! Any kind of tag will do, pre-made, hand-made, make your whole card into a tag, whatever! So I snooped around the gallery to get some ideas from everyone else and then I came up with this. I knew I wanted to use some pretty floral paper so I went looking through my SU DP stach and I had never touch this DP set so I ripped into the bag and started creating.

VLVAug04
For this last week in August the challenge was to use this sketch and the twist was to choose your FAVORITE COLOR COMBO!!! I just love that idea!! It means that I get to pull out my purple and green paper, my favorite color combo, along with white and kraft. That combo makes for such a pretty card. Take a look at some other cards I've made using this color combo, there is this one, and this one, and this one too!! The last on is definitely my favorite! Anyways enough with the old here is the new one!!

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day and don't forget that the Viva la Verve sketch for the first week of September is already out, so head on over there and start playing!!!

I was inspired by this card by Dawn Easton but her tree is a little simpler in design than mine.

So check it out this is what I got!! Enjoy!!!

Mojo101 - Birthday Cards

Hey there everyone,

Hurray for a roommate who is from the same hometown!!! My roommate was in Tracy visiting her family yesterday so I asked her to do me a favor and stop by my parents house to pick it up, I had no idea she went down there after work, but it worked out and now I can share my work with you all again!!! YEAHHHHHH!!!!

So it's been a while since I've played with a Mojo Monday Sketch so I figured I would give this weeks sketch a try. I saw so many great cards using this sketch that I just couldn't resist!!

I decided to go with a birthday theme because I have a few birthdays coming up in September so what better idea than to start early, right!! So here is what I came up with. I made a feminine and a masculine card, so essentially I made two Mojo Sketch Challenges, boy am I on top of it, lol ;-). It's about time huh, you wouldn't know this because I almost always have a new card posted but I haven't made cards in the past two weeks since I haven't been in Sacramento with my craft supplies. I've been out of it for a while so yesterday was really good for me, I got my mojo running and made some 8 cards, which I will post throughout the week. Enjoy!!!

BIG Problem

So here is the story. I got back up to Sac yesterday afternoon and I put things away and did some organizing and then I got online to check blogs and all that good stuff. Then this morning I got up and I did some more cleaning and organizing since I haven't been up here in a while and my stamping supplies was packed because sometimes throughout the summer I took it with me to work on, so I was putting everything back where it belongs before I started creating and making a mess again. So I didn't get to actually creating until after 2pm.

Now it's 6:30 and I have 6 cards done, so what do I want to do next, take pictures, right, but low and behold my camera stayed behind in Tracy, ahhhhhh, I'd scream but I'd scare the neighbors, I'm so disappointed, so whats me next option, my cell camera, brilliant right, well I can't figure out how to get my pics off and they probably won't be good quality. The only thing left would be to scan them...definitely not!! AHHHHHH, I-M S-O F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-E-D!!!!! H-E-L-P!!!!

Tree of Life CAS

Hey everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!! I recently picked up this Inkadinkado stamp, Tree of Life, at my local Michael's store. I picked it up thinking it was super cute and that I would figure out something to do with it. I love the image but I have the hardest time with large stamps and abstract images, I like my fancy DP and colors so for my first use of the stamp I decided to go simple and just dip my feet in the water with the stamp. So what better than a one layer card with a simple saying to get a little feel for the stamp. Maybe sometime later I will try something a little more courageous with it but for now I just wanted to ink it up.

So here are two cards I came up with, let me know what you think.

Enjoy!!!

CASED Beautiful Kindness

Hey everyone,

I hope you are all having a great day, as it has just begun. Last week was my birthday and my neighbors back home always send me cards with little goodies, like lotto tickets and if I'm home they always bring me one of my favorite fruits, strawberries. And of course I always send them a Thank You card for their birthday wishes. Yup...so my thank you cards are a little late but I wasn't around my craft room to be able to make them right after my birthday, I was having fun in Pismo. So now that I have gotten to making them, I want to share them with you.

Again, I CASED another card. Laura Fredrickson over at Scrapnextras had a great layout on her blog that she created to Preview "Chillax" by Taylored Expressions . Another super cute layout!! So I had to give it a try and I decided to ink up my never used SU Botanical Blooms and one of my Beautiful Kindness sentiment from Verve that just went perfect for the occasion.

Take a look. Enjoy!!!

TIP: If you want to make your baubles match your card perfectly take a clear bauble and use your copics to color the bauble whatever color you want to make it, to make it match your card. It's real easy and you can't tell that they were colored by you. (That's how I made mine a matching pink.)

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day, and don't forget to come back soon!!

Recipe:
Card Size: 5 1/2 x 4
Stamps: SU Botanical Blooms, Verve Beautiful Kindness
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack), Rose Coral ColorBox Fluid Chalk Inkpad
Paper: Michael's Paper Slab
Accessories: Nestibilities, SU Scalloped Edge Punch, Gross Grain Ribbon, clear baubles, 3-D pop Dots.
