Save the Date Christmas Cards

Hey there,

Well with Christmas around the corner and my wedding 6 months away I figured it would be a great idea to make a Christmas Save the Date card, a two for one deal. I put a few of our favorite pictures together and and made one card for both events and some that were just Christmas cards.

Check them out!!

May your all have a Very Merry Christmas!!

Digital Christmas Card

Hello there,

I know it has been quite some time since I have posted anything but I have been busy with wedding planning and working but I did want to come on a share something a little different that I have been working. As you might remember I am in to Photography and lately I have been playing with Photoshop. So this Christmas I thought why not make my own Christmas Cards using Photoshop and pictures.

So here are a few takes on the card that I made for my in-laws. Enjoy

This last card was the card my mother-in-law chose. I hope you enjoyed, and will be back to see a few more that I made.

It's Color Challenge Day!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

...in July!!! That's right, at the InStyle Stamps Blog the DT is celebrating the holidays all month long. Since today is the 2nd Satruday of July InStyle Stamps is having its monthly Color Challenge. To see the color inspiration, which is a gorgeous piece of wrapping paper, head on over to the blog.

As for my card, I was inspired by the greens and pinks in the inspirational swatch, so those were the colors I went with. I also decided to make my card Christmas-y and use the, soon to be released, image called Roddrick which will be available for purchase in the store by July 16th, right around the corner!!! He is such a cute lil guy!

Enjoy!!!

ISS Method Monday - Paper Piecing with Digital Stamps

Hello Everyone!!!

Yesterday I was the Method Monday host over at the InStyle Stamps Blog. I did a tutorial on how to paper piece with digital images, so today I wanted to share that with you on my blog. It is really easy!!!

First decide how many different parts you will need.  I needed one for the main image, a second for her left arm, and a third for each boot.  So I printed three images onto one sheet of cardstock, cropping the excess image to save ink.  I left a little extra room around the top one which is the one I used for the card.  The others were printed close together since I only needed parts from each one.

After printing, I returned to my computer and deleted the top image. Doing so prevents the printer from printing over this image a second time. Remember, the top is the main image.

Using removable tape, I adhered small pieces of patterned paper over the area I wanted printed.

Here’s a close-up of the three images after printing a second time:

I then cut out the parts I needed and began putting her back together. Then I finished up the card to get this. Enjoy!!!

RECIPE:
Card Size: 5 1/2 x 4
Stamps: Jana by InStyle Stamps
Paper: DCWV Holiday Stack
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Felt Ribbon, Fun Flock, Bling, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Martha Stewart Embossed Snowflake Edge Border Punch

See how easy that is!! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial! Now that you all know how to paper piece with digi images, I want to see what you create. Please link back with your paper pieced projects to this link.  Enjoy your week!!!

InStyle Stamps November Blog Hop - Ornaments

Hi there,

Welcome to the November InStyle Stamps Blog Hop!! This months hop theme is Ornaments.

When I was younger I used to decorate glass ornaments so I decided that I would use up some more of those glass ornaments that I have just kept stashed in the closet. I printed Sandy out on normal white cardstock. I tried to print her out on acetate paper like a tutorial on SCS says to but my printer is an InkJet and Sandy just got smeared and the coloring didn't look that great when using Sharpies, so I printed her out on white cardstock and cute her out. Problem solved!!

Enjoy!!!!

Now head on over to Melissa's blog to continue your way on the hop. If you didn't come here from Janelle's blog then either head on over to the InStyle Stamps Blog to start at the beginning of the ISS blog hop or follow these links:
Raquel (That's me!!)

Then don't forget to return to the ISS blog after visiting all the DT blogs and comment for your chance to win a prize and vote for your favorite DT project!

RECIPE:
Stamps: InStyle Stamps Sandy
Paper: Whisper White Cardstock
Ink: Copic Markers
Accessories: Stickles, Fun Flock, Snow (Michaels)

Digital-Ink Co. Recipe Challenge (DIC008)

Hi there,

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!!! Today is the start of a new work/school week and today marks week eight of the Digital-Ink Co. Challenge (DIC008). This weeks challenge is a recipe challenge which is to use fabric, glitter,a button/s, and a bow/s.

For my card I used Christmas Puppy by Jules Junk (D-IC). When looking at my image you may ask where my fabric is but I don't have any real fabric laying around, but if I was at home with my mom she might just have had some left over quilting fabric I could have used, but I'm at school so hopefully my ribbon will count as fabric or maybe my prima flower which is made of fabric. As for my button, it is black and it is hiding in the darkness of my prima flower and thats why you just see the embroidery floss. As for the rest of the recipe its all visible.

I hope you will take the time to play with us some time between now and Sunday, October 25th at 8 pm. When submitting your creation use the Mr. Linky on the D-IC Challenge Blog. Also when uploading to SCS please use the keyword DIC008 and don't forget that the image I used today is available in the Store plus many more!!

Enjoy!!!

Please remeber this is the last week that Digital-Ink Co. is having 50% off the entire store, so hurry on over there to make your purchases and also don't forget to signup for the newsletter, because by signing up you get a free image each month.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day and I hope to see your DIC008 challenge creation soon!!!

Five more days...

...tell Christmas. Before I leave to go spend some time with my family and celebrate the holidays I decided to make some more Christams cards.

I decided to use a super cute layout from Paper Cuts by Michele Boyer and use my My Hero Stamp set by Treehouse stamps.

The little girl in the stamp reminds me alot of myself and my dad when I was little, I always liked to dance on my dads feet, I'm to big now but I still enjoy dancing with my dad.

Enjoy!!!

For this second stamp in the set I thought the boy was dressed up like the little girl, but we are just going to imagine that they are spending Christmas in Hawaii or some place warm lol.
