For this hop I played with the super cute Ginger. I love this little image, it is so appropriate for this spring flower themed hop!! I decided to go very colorful and chose very bright colors, so I used my new DCWV The Sorbet Stack that I picked up at Michael's on clearance. Got to love the clearance section!!! Now on to Ginger who is planting flowers which I can't wait for spring so that I can start digging in the dirt myself!! As for now we shall all live vicariously through Ginger, at least until spring comes!!!

Here is my card!! Enjoy!!!

I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day and President's Day. I know  I had a blast!!! My boyfriend and I headed down to San Luis Obispo for the weekend. Dorothy Masculine Birthday

Hi there,

So I totally meant to have this card up earlier...like Sunday, but life got a little busy and today I am posting it. I hope you are all doing well, and that the weather is treating you well. Here in Sacramento it's sprinkling outside, I guess I can't complain, it could be worst, but I don't really like this weather, lol it messes my hair up, ;-/.

As I believe I stated on my previous post using Dorothy, I was attempting to make my boyfriend a birthday card and I really wanted to use her. So on Thursday before leaving to go visit him I hurriedly put this card together, and I think it came out just the way I wanted!! I had gone to the local scrapbook store the evening before and bought this great paper, works for either but I thought it was rather masculine and perfect for the occasion.

My boyfriend turned 26 on Sunday, hehe, don't tell him I told you but he wans't to happy about turning the big two, six, he says he is old and I am just a baby lol, I'm 22, which is not very young but I don't think he is used to dating someone who is younger than him, even if it's only 3 years, 5 months, and 20 days, no biggy right, but it scares him lol. I actually like the fact that he is older because he is more mature and he has his ducks in a row and he agrees with me on that. Alright so here is the card I made for him!

Enjoy!!!

Happy Valentine's Day Hearts

Good morning to ya!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your morning! Here in Cali it's a lil foggy outside my window, but I'm sure that will clear right up and it will be a beautiful day, as it always is here in Cali when there isn't any rain. If you didn't know this about me I hate rain, and I love the sunshine, I blame that on me being born in the summer. Love the sunshine.

Well enough about that on to my card!! ;-) For today's card I made another Valentine's Day card. Seems to be the pattern around here. I was inspired by this card by Tobi Crawford, so I decided to CAS it. Thanks Tobi for the inspiration!!

ISS Heart Balloons

Hello there,

I hope you are all doing well. I know I am! So if your wondering about my first day of class...well I guess it went well...what am I saying, I have Senioritus and I'm so over school. Lets just say I showed up late to my first class just to leave early becuase the professor required me to write 4, 4-5 page essays...which I refuse to do my last semester. So I left early to find another class, an easier one that didn't require much of me. I actually don't even need the class, I just need it to make me a full time student, I don't even need it to graduate, I just need a simple "A" to possibly boost my GPA and make me a full time student. My second class of the day went well, I have a great teacher and there are no tests just in class group projects, so that makes me happy. Well enough about school, on to todays card!

Photobucket
Todays card uses this Card Positioning Systems Sketch #149 (CPS149) from quite a few weeks ago. I thought it would look really cute with InStyle Stamps Heart Balloons. I followed the sketch exactly, but if you look at my card it looks like there are only 2 strips instead of three but the ribbon hids it.

Enjoy!!!

Love U

Hi there,

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! I know I am as this is my last weekend of vacation and tomorrow I start back at school. For my FINAL SEMESTER, yeah!!, about time but I still don't graduate with what I want. I want to be a nurse but all the schools are so inpacted that I haven't been accepted yet and I have tried three times. So after this semester I will graduate with a Bachelors in Public Health with a Concentration in Community Health Education. It goes along with my wanting to be a nurse and it is kind of the back door into getting into the program. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get in for this coming Fall, cause if I don't Im not sure what I will do with myself.

Well on to my card. This was another one of the cards that I created earlier this week and it just so happened to go perfectly with the challenge at Humble Pie Stamps this week. The theme? LOVE! Use RED, PINK and WHITE, and you MUST include hearts somewhere on your creations! So sure enough my card has all the requirements. The hearts aren't very obvious but they are definitly there. There is a heart around "14" with stickles but you can barly see it in this photo.

Enjoy!!!

ISS Valentine Cupcakes

Happy Friday!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful week. Despite the passing of my grandfather on Sunday, I can say that my week went well. This week was a very productive card making week, which excites me since I'm no where near my craft zone but I managed to pack a few things which helped me make lots of cards this week. So on to my card!!

I decided to play along with this weeks InStyle Stamps Wednesday Challenge which was to make a card or project that incorporates a "SWEETS" theme! Can be anything- cupcakes, candy- you name it, as long as it screams SWEETS! I decided to use Cupcakes by InStyle Stamps as my "Sweets" image. I also used the Skipping Stones Design Tuesday Sketch Challenge (SSD07) and was inspired by Amy Sheffer's take on this sketch and decided to CAS it. She always does such great work and she is always inspiring me. Thanks Amy!!!

Enjoy!!!

I Love You!!

Hey there,

Sorry I haven't been around to post those cards that I said I had made. Things around my house have been a lil emotional as my mothers father passed away on Sunday in Acores, Portugal. He was 90 years old and had 7 children, 15 grandkids, 8 great grandbabies & 2 more on the way. He was an amazing man who had a love for star gazing, playing cards, dominos, and saying jokes. He was very intelligent and so wise. His passing was rather unexpected as he was doing really well for a 90 year old and then suddenly we got a call that he was going to the hospital there and then a few hours later we got a call that he had passed. The doctor's told my family that his blood pressure was to low and that his heart wasn't beating fast enough. I guess at 90 that is just what happens even if that is not what we wanted. He was a wonderful grandfather and my family will miss him dearly.

It is a little shocking as just 4 months ago we lost my father's father, we didn't expect it to happen like this but God is the only one who know.

Well on to my card. This was one of the cards that I created this past weekend. I was inspired by this card by Mercy's, so I decided to CAS it. I was super cute and simple and since Valentine's Day is coming I thought I would go with a love theme. I think it can also be directed to my grandfather, he was such an amazing and loved man who will be missed dearly.

Enjoy!!

ISS Method Monday - Crayon Box Tutorial

Hello Everyone!!!

I hope you are all enjoying your Monday. Today I am the host of InStyle Stamps' Method Monday and I have a super cute tutorial for you all...it's a Crayon Box. This was also a project that Jen del Muro created a while back and I thought it was perfect treat box to create.

It can be used for any occasion. I made this one for Valentines.

Note: Please excuse the quality of my photos, I would have waited for day light but when I took these pictures I knew I was not going to have access to a computer for several days and I needed to get my project done. Sorry!

The Supplies You'll Need:
Photobucket

  • Stamp/image of your choice (I used Hearts 3)

  • 9.25" x 6" Cardstock

  • 3.25" x 3.25" acetate

  • Circle Nestabilities (or other cutting system)

  • 12" and 18" gross grain ribbon

  • double-sided adhesive tape

  • dimensional glue dots

    1. Score 9.25" x 6" cardstock at 3.5", 4.5", 8" and 9 across the short side. Score at 1" across the long side. Fold on the scored lines. Cut along solid black lines (see below photo).
    Photobucket

    2. Cut circular window from one of the 3.5" panel. Create scallop frame for window opening.
    Photobucket

    3. With double sided adhesive tape, adhere 1" of the 12" of ribbon to the top of the inside of the window. Do the same at the bottom inside with the 18" ribbon.
    Photobucket

    4. Create and adhere box together.
    Photobucket

    5. Cut 3.5" circle using Nestiabilities or other cutting system. Score 1/2" on either side of center of the circle.
    Photobucket

    6. Apply adhesive to one side of the scored circle and attach to back of crayon box, folding the remaining portion over the top and front of the box. Adhere acetate and scallop frame for window around front of window.
    Photobucket

    7. Stamp and cut out image. Fill box as desired and wrap ribbon around and tie in bow.
    Photobucket

    Pretty cool tutorial, huh!!
I hope you enjoyed my simple tutorial!! I can’t wait to see your creations!! Please link back with your crayon box creations in the comment section, I would love to see them.

    Hugs,
    Raquel

    Welcome, Little one

    Hello there,

I hope you are all enjoying your Saturday!! Today I want to share with you all that baby card I was talking about. I seriously whipped this baby up in just a few minutes. I was inspired by this super cute baby card from Poppy Paperie so I decided to put some word art and text together and come up with the same cute little sentiment and then I put together the same layout. I managed to make two because I first put together the small card but I made the sentiment to big so it just went to the larger card and I made a new one for the smaller card. It worked out just fine. My friend, who the shower was for, really liked my card, I hope you guys do too!

    Enjoy!!!

    Photobucket
    Photobucket

Lol, do you guys like my camera fun!! I just recently got a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens to go with my new Rebel and it does this cool stuff with near and far and the blurriness, so I had to play.
