SU Bundled in Love - Ducky

Hey there,

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm still a little under the weather and I still haven't gotten back into my normal groove of making cards all the time. I hope after this weekend I will start feeling better and get back into doing everything that needs to be done.

As for today I just heard the news that one of my cousin's had her baby girl last night. Alivia Reise weighed 8lb 7oz  and was 20" long. Congrats to the Jorge family for their latest addition to the family!!! With this I want to share a baby card.

Enjoy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day!!!

Bellarific Friday Sketch: Julia's Diaper Bag

Hey there everyone,

I hope your are all having a great start to your weekend!! I thought that I would give this weeks Bellarific Friday Sketch a try.

I started this card late Friday night in hopes that I would finish it before midnight so that I could email it to Emily. As I was finishing my card and just starting to glue everything down, I had a rather large incident. I had gone to Michael's earlier in the day to pick up a new bottle of glue because the one I had was getting low. So I decided to use the new bottle because the old one wasn't upside down and I didn't want to wait for the glue to come down. I started to use the new bottle and the glue wouldn't come out, I know with my old bottle if I squeezed it eventually something would come out, so I gave it a try with my new bottle. I squeezed it and nothing, so I squeezed it harder and harder and then BAMB!!! the cap flew off, hit the ceiling along with all the glue in my bottle.

There was glue on the ceiling, on the wall, on my frames, on my carpet, on my desk and all the splatter was in my hair, on my face and on my glasses, thank goodness just the splatter and not what was on the ceiling. And to top it all off I had just showered and was nice and clean and ready for bed, so, so much for that shower, I had to take another one to get cleaned up. Lol my roommate and her boyfriend were in the other room watching TV and I popped my head in there and they just cracked up, I looked pretty bad with a bunch of splattered glue all over my head LOL. It was funny but definitely not funny to clean up or have a new bottle now be empty and I still can't find the cap, I looked everywhere, so my new bottle might just go dry.

Anyways on with my card. Since it is a Bellarific Sketch I decided to use Julia's Diaper Bag. I figured I'd better get to the baby cards cause I know so many women who are expecting, I'm thinking there is something in the water, who knows. So here it is. I made it a unisex card because so far none of the expecting mom's know what the sex of their baby's are.

Enjoy!!!!

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend!!!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #67

Hi there,

I thought I would give Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge a try. I did it the same time I did the TECC43 challenge so I used the same paper and stamps and went along with the baby theme again.

I did it late at night and I guess I wasn't really paying much attention cause for this first card I taped the ribbon backwards, I did all the hard work of putting two ribbons together and then I taped them down wrong, I was a bit upset but there was nothing I could really do, it was permanently stuck. Oh well, there is always next time.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Bundled in Love
Ink: Pitch Black (Adirondack); Aquamarine ColorBox Chalk; Rose Coral ColorBox Chalk
Markers: Copic YR20 Yellowish Shade
Paper: Nana's Nursery Baby Girl, Nana's Nursery Baby Boy,
Accessories: Creme American Craft Premium Ribbon; Buttons; Dimensional Glue Dots, Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

To participate in the challenge and be entered in the raffle, make a card with this layout and upload it either to your blog, or to an online gallery.

If you upload your card on SCS, put WSC67 (NO SPACE INBETWEEN WSC AND 67) in the keyword section. That way we can look at all of them at once!

Post a link to your card to this blog entry as a comment. Please add your entry# to it.

Beate will determine the winner with Random.org on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. CST.

Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #43

Last night I decided to play with the TECC43 Sketch Challenge and I made some baby cards.

I have two cousins who just had baby's this last month one a boy and the other a girl and another one of my cousins just announced that she is expecting a baby boy for April so I thought it would be appropriate to make some baby cards using this sketch. Also I have had this set forever, I think it was one of the first sets I bought when I started purchasing from SU and until last night it has never been inked, it's probably been a good year since I got it, so I finally inked it up. About time huh?!!!

The first card I made for a little baby boy, I had to change the sketch from portrait to landscape because it didn't seem to work for the images and sentiment I had, first I changed the sentiment and it still didn't work so I just flipped the card and continued to make it not thinking to go back to my original sentiment from the set, "Welcome Baby," which would have worked better for sending out to my cousins. But it all works out either way.

For this second card I did the same thing, but I thought it would be cute to give the baby feet some dimension so I popped them up with dimension dots.

Now it's your turn to to try the sketch! Taylor will choose the most clever, creative, and cute creation from the submissions this weekend to be the Featured Cupcake Sampler next week. Your design and blog will be featured on Taylor's blog during Cupcake Friday. You're not required to use cupcakes for the challenge, but if you got 'em why not use 'em!? You're welcome to create something other than a card, just stick as closely to the sketch as possible and you'll be eligible for the Featured Cupcake Sampler honors. If you're uploading to Splitcoast use keyword TECC43 (for Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge 43). Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog post or gallery upload so Taylor can check it out! You must have your cards uploaded by Monday, November 24th at 8am PST to be eligible for the featured cupcake sampler.
